The Mattel Starhawk is a hand-held video game in which you pilot a spacecraft named the Starhawk. You must takeoff, avoid flak, shoot down as many enemy craft as you can, and then land again. For game play, you have a fire button, a land button, and a small approximately 1 inch high joystick with which to move the craft. In order to land, you must drop below a certain altitude before pushing the 'land' button, or else you will automatically crash. The screen is made up of LED's which light up to show the various flak bursts and enemy craft. The casing of the game is black with white lettering, with the screen taking up most of the right-hand side of the console. The joystick is red and situated below the screen. The game was manufactured in 1982.
